When you decide to have a piper perform at your ceremony, you should consider the following before you make your decision:
Is he or she experienced ? Just about anyone can say they are a piper as long as they wear a kilt and play notes on the pipes. To be an accomplished piper takes many years of dedicated practice. Often, youngsters will advertise their services at a low price to beat out professionals just to get the job. When they attempt to play the tunes, they make many mistakes due to nervousness or lack of adaptability to last-minute situations. When the performance represents a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, the last thing anyone would want is a poor showing by an amateur.

If the piper is a quality performer, he or she will have many references to provide. Just showing a few pictures of parades and gatherings is not really an indication of the piper's ability. The best indication would be references from former clients.
Nothing is more frustrating than to have the piper cancel out at the last minute because of another commitment such as school or sports. Choosing a professional piper insures that he or she will be available at the time of your request.
Having a piper at your occasion will bring you happiness and good luck in the future. It is one of the oldest traditions in recorded history, dating back to Roman times. Good luck, and enjoy your piper!

Many of my performances are located near beautiful Lake George, NY. Pictured above are views of the lake and of Fort William Henry. In addition, I will travel most anywhere in Eastern NY and Vermont, and I am available 24/7, year round.
During the summer months, I perform at hotels and motels on the lake. I pipe for everything from barbeques to marshmallow roasts. Pictured here are some of my weekly performances at The Sagamore Hotel.
